General Information
The First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University is a large comprehensive Grade-A tertiary hospital integrating medical services, education, scientific research, disease prevention, health care, and emergency public health response. It is one of China’s first standardized training bases for resident physicians. It is renowned for its outstanding physicians, comprehensive disciplines, strong technical capabilities, and specialized departments.
The hospital was established in 1941. It has three campuses at Xichang Road, Chenggong, and High-tech Districts, covering a total building area of 514,100 square meters with 4,515 open beds. It employs 6,536 staff members, including 524 with doctoral degrees. It houses 8 National clinical key specialties Construction Project，1National clinical key specialty Pilot Program and 36 Yunnan Provincial specialties Construction Project.76 clinical and medical technology departments, and 248 specialized outpatient clinics. The maximum daily outpatient and emergency visits reaches 16,000 . In 2024, the outpatient and emergency visits was 3.75 million, with 212,000 discharges and 81,000 surgeries performed.
