Obstetrics Department was among the first in China authorized to confer master's and doctoral degrees. It is the first national key clinical specialty in obstetrics in Yunnan Province and serves as a comprehensive perinatal medical center. The department established the first maternal and neonatal critical care unit in Yunnan Province and pioneered a joint obstetric-neonatal diagnosis and treatment system.

It is a major participant and planner in nationally relevant projects and has established an internationally aligned maternal and child medical center. The department implements a system where neonatologists are there during the deliveries for high-risk pregnancies, builds a comprehensive treatment system, enhances overall capabilities, and achieves nationally advanced levels in the diagnosis and treatment of complex and high-risk obstetric conditions.

Cardiology Department 1 is the longest-established and largest public institution for cardiovascular medical care, education, and research in Yunnan Province. It is designated as a national center for the diagnosis and treatment of complex cardiovascular and cerebrovascular critical illnesses, a professional demonstration center of the American Heart Association, and an educational base of the American College of Cardiology.

The department currently has 4 postdoctoral fellows, 28 doctoral degree holders, and 25 master's degree holders. Dedicated catheterization labs equipped with large C-arm systems are available at both Xichang Road and Chenggong campuses. Coronary interventional experts are stationed year-round to operate the "Green Channel for Chest Pain" , providing timely care for patients with acute coronary syndromes. It also has specialized outpatient services and advanced diagnostic facilities.

Dermatology Department is a nationally renowned dermatology specialty with strong comprehensive capabilities. It is designated as a national key clinical specialty in dermatology and venereology, a doctoral program, and a postdoctoral research station. The department has 16 doctoral degree holders, 7 master's degree holders, 7 doctoral supervisors, and 12 master's supervisors.

It undertakes the treatment of most complex and critical dermatological and venereal diseases in Yunnan Province. Equipped with multiple examination rooms and laboratories (including a laser aesthetics room) and advanced devices such as the Picosecond Laser, the department offers comprehensive treatments for conditions like acne, laser therapy for birthmarks, and photodynamic therapy.

Emergency Medicine Department is a key discipline of the hospital. In collaboration with the affiliated hospital of Pierre and Marie Curie University (University of Paris VI) in France, it has established an international expert cooperation station. It is the only institution in Yunnan Province authorized to confer both doctoral and master's degrees in emergency and critical care medicine.

The department has 3 doctoral supervisors, 7 master's supervisors, 4 doctoral degree holders, and 39 master's degree holders. It leverages emergency resuscitation rooms, emergency ICUs, and inpatient wards to create a "golden window" for treatment, introduces over ten new technologies (including ECMO), and provides aerospace medical rescue, opening green channels for life saving.

Gastroenterology Department was founded by Professor Pengxin Yao (returned from the US) and is recognized as a national key clinical specialty. It has a strong faculty: 4 doctoral supervisors, 12 master's supervisors, 22 doctoral degree holders, and 19 master's degree holders. It is the largest intestinal disease diagnosis and treatment center in Yunnan Province.

The department offers personalized targeted fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) (with patented results in Bai ethnic microbiota applications), develops new drugs for liver diseases via MDT, pioneered ERCP technology, and operates 3 endoscopy zones (the largest in Yunnan). It excels in early gastrointestinal cancer diagnosis and pancreatic disease treatment.

Anesthesiology Department is a modern clinical department integrating medical care, teaching, and research. Its comprehensive strength ranks among the leading in the province. It is designated as a national key clinical specialty and a national standardized residency training base, with a complete talent cultivation system.

The department is equipped with over 1,000 high-end devices. It pioneered pre-anesthesia assessment clinics, established a pre-anesthesia consultation center, formed 13 anesthesia sub-specialty groups, and promotes the use of ultrasound and advanced hemodynamic monitoring technologies.

Critical Care Medicine Department is one of the earliest established critical care disciplines in Southwest China and even nationwide. It is designated as a national key clinical specialty in critical care medicine and the only doctoral program in Yunnan Province. The department comprises four ICU wards and has rich teaching resources.

It has pioneered new technologies globally (e.g., eclampsia severity assessment, bedside cerebral microdialysis monitoring) and was the first worldwide to use aminophylline for treating capillary leakage in sepsis (now widely adopted). It also develops evaluation techniques for septic shock and scrub typhus severity.

Trauma Center is an integrated medical, educational, and research team covering multiple specialties. It is the most capable department in Yunnan Province for comprehensive trauma treatment. In August 2023, it was approved as a national key clinical specialty cultivation project (trauma surgery).

The center is fully resourced, with 9 doctoral degree holders, 29 master's degree holders, and 8 postgraduate supervisors. It specializes in the treatment of limb and joint injuries and their complications, covers various types of trauma, and has established an integrated rapid comprehensive trauma emergency response system leading the way in Southwest China. It also operates multiple specialized outpatient clinics.
